Mindofxu (b. 2000) is a Chinese American artist born in Texas and raised in the Silicon Valley, California. His artistic journey began through an unexpected gateway- basketball. Immersed in the culture of the sport, he developed a fascination with pop aesthetics, deepened by childhood influences like Yu-Gi-Oh! Recognized for his talent, his AP Art Studio teacher encouraged him to pursue art seriously, leading him to attend the USC Roski School of Art and Design, where he earned his BFA in Fine Art.
Based in the Bay Area, Mindofxu merges personal identity with a sculptural practice, primarily working in clay. His ongoing Fortune Pot series has gained recognition among collectors, including acquisitions by venture capital firms. His work explores themes of heritage, ritual, and contemporary culture through tactile, handcrafted forms.
Mindofxu is the recipient of awards including a Gold Key, Silver Key, and three Honorable Mentions from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. At USC, he was the only student in his graduating class to receive all 4 of the university’s top honors: the Renaissance, Global, Discovery, and Honor Roll distinctions. His work has been exhibited internationally, with notable shows at the Helen Lindhurst Gallery, the Fisher Museum of Art, the Palazzo Bembo in Venice, Italy, and the Palo Alto Art Center.
